Tonight, the Aldo Leopold Nature Center hosts a Climate and Sustainability Series lecture, entitled “The Passenger Pigeon’s Extinction: Lessons From the Past for a Sustainable Future” with Dr. Stanley Temple, the Beers-Bascom Professor Emeritus in Conservation at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. This free lecture will be followed at 7pm by a guided tour of the Center. There is a small admission for the exhibit tour, and it’s free for members. This Saturday, Veterans For Peace, Clarence Kailin Chapter 25 will be setting up the annual Memorial Mile on Atwood Avenue along Olbrich Park. Volunteers are welcome to come to the park and help place the markers. The start time is at 9am. The take-down will take place on Saturday, May 31st, in the early afternoon.
